Casting light

houseOn my usual walk to work this morning the winter sun revealed something brief but beautiful…a new set of  shimmering windows on a solid brick wall. It was almost as if the house opposite willed with all its might to cast light and not shadow on its neighbour – it’s almost christmas after all. And what a lovely present this would be – windows without the scaffolding, the hammering and the dust. Fancy opening up a new view on Christmas day…unwrapping nothing but light – the act of giving being quite literally, the act of taking away.
